There is no such thing as “below your pay grade.” Seeing what needs to be done (even if it's just a piece of trash on the floor) and doing it is everyone's pay grade.

Job descriptions are like the points in Whose Line Is It Anyway?: they don't really matter. We use them so that people outside the company can paint an approximate picture of what each of us can do.
